Kaupapa Wānanga

TE TAIAO MĀORI

A series of noho wānanga are scheduled to commence in January 2014 at Pouakai Papakainga, New Plymouth, Taranaki presented by Dr Te Huirangi Waikerepuru and Tengaruru Wineera. Wānanga Co-ordinator is Raukura Ropiha. Wānanga Facilitator is Pania Lee.

2 noho per month are scheduled to take place: –

  • Te Kakano (for basic speakers & non-speakers of Te Reo Māori)
  • Te Miro (for advanced speakers of Te Reo Māori).

It is our view that 2 noho will best support participants’ preferred wānanga environments particularly in terms of linguistic proficiency and conceptual understanding. Spaces available in each noho are limited to 15 participants that also include marae accommodation.

NB: The Noho Wānanga will be a ‘Child Free’ space.
